Grape Varieties - Assyrtiko

Assyrtiko

This is the third most widely planted white grape of Greece, the intense character it gains in gains from the volcanic  soils of its native Santorini having inspired wine makers throughout the country to give it a try.

Assyrtiko grown on Santorini is trained in a cricle, creating a sort of nest that protects the fruit from the wind.

Make no mistake, this is a high quality grape indeed.
